I met Storis in Seward and she was sittin on blocks.
Enroute to Kodiak, we bottom sampled in Resurrection Bay. Wow! I was the Doc/HS1 on board from fall 02-04. Departed an HSC. Loved all the work, the crew, the night I came into the berthing area and an animal had been skinned right there. Ha.
Loved fishing for King Salmon(thanks Captain). On shore walking back to the rigid hull, saw a bear cross my tracks. So many things happen in a tour, it is hard to put into a small review. Will never forget the rocking of the ship and getting tossed from my rack, even with my boots and hardhat tucked under the mattress to keep me in. EM1 went flying at the same time. I was on the storis from 1975-1976 and we took the storis up into the ice pack to help the start of the alaska pipeline.I remember the night we ran aground in our home port and set on the beach for 72 hours.I was a em3 on the storis. The best duty you could ask for.
